A Day of Inspiration, Education , and Equipping

You're invited! Join Gateway Woods on March 14th and go Beyond These Walls!

The Beyond These Walls event is designed for community churches in the Greater Fort Wayne area, for individuals 16 years and older, to attend an afternoon of fellowship and learning. The goal is to educate, inspire, and equip believers to make a difference and better recognize and support those in their community who are in difficult situations by bringing our mission to life for those who are Beyond These Walls.

This gathering invites local believers, supporters, and advocates to experience how God is at work restoring families, strengthening youth, and building hope for generations to come. Choose from breakouts about discipleship and mentoring, the spiritual battle of addiction, helping without hurting, Run Hard - Rest Well, and the power of intercessory prayer! Through experienced speakers, real-world experiences, and a shared vision for helping people in tough situations, attendees will see how our mission extends far beyond our buildings—into homes, hearts, and lives across our community.

Beyond These Walls is more than an event—it is an invitation to step into the mission. Together, we celebrate what God has done and look ahead to what He is still building to go Beyond These Walls.

Keynote Speaker and Session (all attendees)

The Difficult Doctrine of Loving Your Neighbor (Jeff Waibel) - Jesus said we are to love our neighbor like we love ourselves. Seems simple enough! So why is it so ridiculously hard?

Breakout Sessions, Speakers, and Descriptions

Good Intentions, Hard Outcomes (Tim Stauss, Chelsey Conroy) - Good intentions can still have hard outcomes. When does helping actually hurt?  Join us as we talk about healthy, effective ways to help others—without losing yourself in the process.

Raising Empathetic Kids in an Apathetic World (Nichole Suvar) - Raising Empathetic Kids in an Apathetic World invites attendees to consider how empathy—rooted in Christlike compassion—is intentionally formed rather than naturally assumed. Drawing from personal stories, Scripture, and cultural insight, this talk explores how a self-focused world has dulled our ability to see and care for others. Through practical, everyday practices, this message encourages adults to raise children who reflect the compassionate heart of Jesus. Change begins not in grand gestures, but in small, faithful moments that shape hearts toward love, mercy, and understanding.

A is for Addiction (Kristi Baran) - A is for Addiction is a primer for spotting, serving, and supporting those with addiction or addictive tendencies.

Discipleship | Mentoring (Joe Heins) - How are you intentionally investing in the spiritual and emotional growth of people within your circle of influence? This workshop explores the dynamics of discipleship and mentoring for the purpose of investing in people of all ages.

Run Hard, Rest Well (Dan Sparling) - Simple, strategic, and revolutionary, Restorative Wellness is not a program; it’s a movement. It’s a paradigm that inspires individuals to Run with Passion and Rest on Purpose.

The deadline to register for the event is Wednesday, March 4th.
