There are numerous reasons why I became a foster parent. Probably the first and biggest reason is because, I was a foster child myself. I saw how so many people in my life invested time, energy, and prayers into my life. I was blessed and have many lasting relationships from my time in foster care (and as a former Gateway Woods resident). I felt God’s call to be a foster parent, and despite my own doubts about being a single foster parent, I took a step of faith and trusted the Lord would carry me through this journey. He has been faithful. I have a great community of support through my family, friends, Gateway, and my church.
