The Executive Director shall serve as the direct executive representative of the Board of Directors in carrying out its policies, while providing the vision, strategic direction, and leadership necessary to successfully implement the mission of Gateway Woods Family Services.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A member in good standing in the Apostolic Christian Church 
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in any field, Master’s Degree in a human services field preferred
  • Supervisory experience managing the work and performance of others 
  • Demonstrated skills in the attributes and functions described below 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Vision/Strategic Direction - To provide vision and strategic direction to the organization in cooperation with the board to fulfill the mission of the organization

Accountability - Report to the GWFS Board of Directors. Communicate with the internal and external stakeholders of Gateway Woods, including the Elder Body of the Apostolic Christian Church and the ACCH Board of Directors.

Leadership - Create and lead an environment of spiritual, personal, and professional growth, unity, teamwork, and open communication at all levels of the entire organization

Stewardship - Be a wise steward of the organization's financial, spiritual, human, and material resources in a manner that honors God and fulfills our stated mission

Staff Management/Supervision - Provide for the hiring, supervision, and development of all employees. Of top priority is to ensure a timely annual evaluation of each employee, to ensure that the highest standards of performance are achieved for the growth of the employee and the organization

Program Development - Drive continual organizational and program advancement/betterment/improvement, ensuring that measurable objectives are defined for each program and performing ongoing evaluations of the defined objectives of each program

Governance - Assist the Board and its various committees to effectively fulfill their duties/responsibilities by providing board development, recruitment, and being a liaison between the board, the community, and the staff

Public Relations - Promote Gateway Woods with our Apostolic Christian churches, utilizing our Public Relations staff and church leaders as necessary to build and strengthen Gateway Woods' relationship with all congregations and the local business and community. Also, to promote Gateway Woods with necessary government, judicial, and childcare agency personnel

Advocacy - To serve as an advocate for Gateway Woods and its clients, working with State and National organizations, State regulatory agencies, and the community
